Peshawar … the internet is probably doubling its content. Of the two million (or so) people there at the inauguration yesterday, I had the feeling that about a million were going to go home and post their photos on their blog. Everyone had a camera, and you could tell that many people were hunting around for “significant moments” to capture. I can’t tell you how many people stopped to photograph a black man next to me who seemed particularly moved as the crowd was dispersing. When Barack Obama stepped onto the stage, a million cameras, cell phones, iphones, blackberries and camcorders went up into the air. It was astonishing. I believe the inauguration was probably the most photographed event in human history, and I think it will hold that record for some time.
