Rapid City I’m always happy to learn something new about the area, and this time my discovery is Lake Awosting. An incredible place for a swim. It’s normally guarded by an entrance fee, but there are ways around the fee if you park in intelligent places. I am told the water this weekend is 76 degrees. You just have to watch for the timber rattlers. Much of the lake is encircled with summersweet, Clethra alnifolia, which was just past bloom. The time to come is the second and third week of August. The show I’m sure would be impressive.
Lake Awosting.
