It’s worth Obama being a one-term president, it’s worth the Mossad assassinating him, it’s worth his losing a few million donors, to not veto the Palestinian request for statehood. It’s the official policy of the United States that the Palestinians should have their own state. For us to veto it just shows our own disgusting hypocrisy.

How disastrous would four years of Rick Perry be? Seriously, there’s not any single act that would compare to that potential unending catastrophe. I like the idea of leaving the symbolic chest-thumping to Bush and McCain, and actually doing what’s best for the country.
Rick Perry won’t win… don’t worry about all this “excitable Andrew” stuff. It will be some pro-business Republican, Romney or (more likely) Huntsman or some other grownup. As for doing what’s best for the country, there is absolutely no way that supporting Israel on this one is good for our country, short-term or long-term. “The audacity of a backbone.”
